My Evolving Educational Philosophy - Thumbnail ViewAs I begin my journey to learn to be a teacher, I envision myself as a teacher who -
Believes:
strengths, weaknesses, and abilities - the foddor necessary to learn. I as a teacher am an instrument that will lead, nurture, scaffold, and guide the child to be a positive contributor to society. As a teacher, my responsibility as well is to nurture the whole child by understanding his physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs.More importantly, I BELIEVE in every child; there is no useless, unproductive, hopeless child. Will Strive to:
Aspires to:
I will make this happen by being a good listener and a persistent learner. I will be a role model for the students to see and learn from. I will encourage collaborative work in the lessons and activities in the classroom. Our classroom discussions will be filled with books and stories of great people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, etc. These role models will teach us, remind us and inspire us to go beyond our selfish desires and challenge our convictions and strengths. I cannot do this by myself; my peers, my Peer Learning Network (PLN), and parents will be my network of support. With their support I will be able choose right for my students keeping them at the forefront. Learning is a life long process and I would like to make learning second nature for my students. |
