Just A Little About Me -

Hello everyone,
Thank you for visiting my website.
I was born and raised in Tanzania and moved with my husband and two daughters fifteen years ago to San Diego.
I am passionate about cooking, walking 3-Day - 60 milers, half marathons and children.
Cooking -
I enjoy cooking. Cooking relaxes me, gives me joy, and I get a sense of gratification serving food. I do cook a fresh, well balanced meal everyday for my family. I learnt how to cook from the two best cooks - my mom and my mother in-law. I am able to cook Indian food, Mexican, Italian, Thai, and Indo-Chinese. I also love to experiment with dishes of different cuisines.
Marathons and 60 Milers -
I started walking 3-Days and marathons after I lost a very close friend of my battling leukemia. I felt helpless as I witnessed her evaporating in front of me. I decided to walk the Rock n Roll Marathon, which I did successfully walking for 7 hours with blisters all over my feet. It was worth it. This may surprise you but walking is addictive. After that I walked three half marathons a year for three years. I wanted more. I then walked the 3-Day Susan Komen Breast Cancer walk followed my the 3-Day MS walk. I continue to walk with my husband every weekend on Highway 101.
Children -
I have enjoyed playing, working, and learning from children from the very beginning. I have spent hours babysitting my younger cousins. Then I raised my two beautiful daughters. While raising them I taught Gujarati language at my Sunday School for 6 years and continue to babysit my nieces and nephews. I believe that all children have the ability to learn; they just need the right ingredients - structure, environment, tools and a caring teacher. I aspire to be that.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
